Do you remember when Publix was not open on Sunday? They were almost an exclusive store. If you said you shopped it was like you must have money.

Publix has ****ty sausages I know for a fact. They're overpriced and thats all I have to say.
Publix is a monopoly in FL now and its rather sickening. Its like sooner or later, you wont even have a choice when Winn Dixie goes + Albertsons and a few others.

Shop at Wal-Mart or Target then.

We just moved down here and the Publix in Loxahatchee puts the nasty Albertsons and King Soopers stores in our old Denver neighborhood to shame.

LOL I'm like that too though, when I travel to other countries. I have to go to their grocery stores and super markets. I think it's because it gives you an idea of the local culture.
I think Publix is a little overrated. It is fine and I would shop there if I had to, I find Costco way cheaper. I worked at Publix during high school & my first years in college (the best job I ever had hands down ), those jobs are great for students, I hope they don't get rid of the baggers, it's like a "Florida" tradition.
I will not shop at Walmart. Those I think are a monopoly, and I can't stand the size of those stores.

I would never buy food at Cosco. They have even been caught repackaging stuff and changing the dates. In other words take old out dated ham and make salad out of it and so on. Regrind old beef into hamburger and redate it. They have a completely unskilled high turn over staff of employes. Try to find someone who has been working there more then a few months. Employees who just come and go could care less if you got sick from the food. The management could even care less. Maybe a TV at Cosco but never food. They is really the bottom of the barrel and price isn't everything. I guess can good would be OK.

I didn't know Costco was accused of doing that. Bummer. I had a higher impression of them. Winn Dixie I do know for a fact that they used to do that all the time as I got a local one in a lot of trouble with various government agencies as they were repacking lunch meats and other covering up dates on everything perishible it seemed with stickers. And this was in a senior citizen area where they are not known for looking at dates. Having been through food poisoning a time or two there was no way I was going to let them get away with potentially killing someone like my Grandma so I have never regretted getting them in trouble and getting the manager fired.
As for Publix, they have been having some better sales lately and I do still like them but the Sweetbay in my neighborhood is really starting to kick Publix's behinds in terms of service, product and what not. I don't know about any of the other Sweetbays but mine rocks. And they make the absolute best cold fried chicken on the planet.

I think it is "buyer be where" no matter where you go. Publix does have a good price policy. If it rings up wrong you get it for free. My wife got an apple pie the other day and they refunded the full price and you keep the pie. Winn Dixie is the worst. Things always ring up wrong "ALL" the time it is unbelievable. It can't just all be mistakes. I think they have wrong pricing built into the system.
I was in Wallgreens and a very old woman in front of me was buying vitamins. Her bill was $105.00. The cashier just stood there and waited to be paid. I just butted in and told him the price was wrong. Some of the stuff she had was buy one get one free. I know because it was a good sale and I had just bought some. He acted all annoyed for me butting in and I insisted he call the manager to correct it. After the manager came the bill was $68.00. .
Very few out there you come in contact with know what they are doing and most could care less. The lady just smiled at me and said, "That was a big difference". I still don't think she really knew what had happened and God forbid the cashier would be of any help.
Forget things like insurance or health issues. You have to be your own advocate and educate yourself. When ever any of our family is in a hospital they are never left alone, a family member is there 24/7. I am sorry to say, I trust very few people.

Publix just bought and renovated a former Albertson's near my house. So far, it's sparkly clean and the employees have been cordial. I've taken advantage of some BOGO specials. I'm lucky to have Fresh Market, SweetBay, Publix & WM SS within 2 miles. I check online flyers before going to either.
