I'm in Arizona now, and miss Publix. It was always clean, courteous, you didn't need to join their club to get better prices, and just the whole experience was nice. Out here, there are Albertson's, Safeway, and Fry's. All of them remind me of Winn-Dixie (depressing place).
Publix has great prices....and they always have something on sale for each type of a food. (either coke OR pepsi, either kelloggs OR Gen Mills, etc). I really miss the deli, with their subs and chicken strips...amazing.

Now for "quality" Hello! that same can of Del Monte Sweet Corn or a litter of Pepsi Cola will be of the same quality or better regardless of the place of purchase as long as it has not expired. Now, products that are fairly priced (Walmart) which guarantees quick SKU sellout will be more fresh than something that has been in the warehouse for 2-weeks. So, who got the best quality?

Sorry, I don't care how cheap it is, I won't shop at the evil empire known as Wal-Mart nor will I shop in a filthy grocery store like my local Winn-Dixie. And I'll horify you futher by telling you that in addition to Publix I also shop at Whole Foods and Fresh market.

On top of that, Publix's customer service leaves a lot to be desired. For their cashiers you are just a skin color, hair and fancy clothes.
|
That's one of the most ridiculous statements I've ever read. I highly doubt an $8/hour cashier cares about anyone's skin tone or hairstyle.

Same experience here. They are generally clean enough, but their produce is just not so good and the selection is weak.

Publix's price on the Pomi consistently runs $0.50 to $1+ cheaper per box than other places we see it.

Definitely!! Fresh Market charges more than a dollar more per box than Publix does on the POMI. And yes, their tomatos DO taste better--you've got a smart husband!

Husband just stuck his head in from the kitchen and announced that he was now in love with Publix's premium ice cream because it was still an actual half gallon- they haven't shrunk the carton down like Breyer's has.

I love Publix's peppermint stick icecream.
I used to only eat it during Christmas time, but it's hard to ignore it on a hot summer day.

I love Publix. I look for specials and load up on those that we use on a regular basis. Their stores in this area (Space Coast) are very clean and the employees are helpful. We have Walmart, Target, Albertson's, etc. but Publix is best for me.
