Cities in Florida
I have lived in the Florida Keys (islamorada) my entire life. It has gotten very expensive to live here. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for cities along the water in Florida that arnt full of elderly people and is still kinda young. I am still young and would like to live somewhere i can party but also be by the water at the same time and also raise a family one day. Any suggestions???

Try Navarre, Fort Walton Beach, or Destin, can't go wrong

Pretty good. Ft. Lauderdale would be better on the party scene, although it heavily depends on what kind of scene you are looking for. The night scene is more diversified when you head further south, and then you are also closer to Miami Beach. Then you go west of both cities and you wouldn't even think there is a party scene. There are pockets that are still family oriented. The work scene in Florida in general is not good, especially in South FL which is notorious for low work ethic, but there are many exceptions to the rule. I honestly haven't experienced the lack of work ethic but it's something that's talked about a lot.

Those places, Destin, Navarre, etc are up in the Northwest Florida Panhandle ... if you've never been up here, you should check it out one day

The reply was for the OP. But the areas mentioned are in the NW Florida panhandle and are smaller cities that got a lot to offer. If you want to party your heart out go to Panama City and see if you can what you are looking for.
There is a lot of Florida cities that can satisfy the OP request, just got to go visit and discover paradise just like many of us did.
Thank you.

Look into Palm Beach Gardens. Sounds like what you're looking for. I'm in my late 20's- also single and working. I'm headed there in a couple of weeks. Its a very professional area, excellent adult night life and its an all around safe area. Another great thing is that its not very congested- its further north of west palm beach but has its own 'scene'. (You really don't need to drive down there to party).

I'm not that far south- Im actually 40 min. north of palm beach. SOUTH south florida is VERY congested and I don't care for it much. In fact, I can barely stand driving into the southern most areas of west palm beach. But its nothing compared to Miami. As far as how the lifestyle is down there- well it varies. There's something for everyone. Its very diverse. I don't party much down there but I had a friend who worked in that area (she's a model). I used to shop in some of the flea markets in the cuban and caribbean neighborhoods when I first moved to Fla and they have great restaurants down there. Well it is true what they say- if you can't speak the language in a few of the areas, they won't help you! I don't speak Spanish but it wasn't that bad everywhere. But its a great experience I think If you have the time to sight see and visit different places in Miami. And yes, there are gay people there. Heck, there're gay people everywhere! LOL. I don't think twice about things like that- people are people and if you're looking for a hot guy- trust me, he'll let you know ahead of time if he's gay or not. But I have to say, on a recent trip to Key West, I was utterly dissapointed to find TONS of HOT GUYS (and well, none were available for me). But I know the odds are better in miami so good luck with that
I don't know what the day to day working lifestyle is like but I prefer to live in a place thats somewhat quiet but just minutes a way from a downtown or a some kind of nightlife. Its pretty expensive anywhere you go so if you're considering a choice between two places (miami or pbg), I'd pick palm beach-- its safer.
