Default Florida Real Estate Deals?

I keep hearing that there are great real estate deals in Florida. I'm wondering how good they are. Where are the best communities in Florida in which to find these deals?

I'm looking for a NICE 1-2 bedroom condominium or a small NICE 2-3 bedroom house (not luxury....just not in a run down or poor area). What kind of asking price are we talking about?

Prices in our area range from $150,000 and up. There are definitely deals to be had but it all depends on what defines a "deal" in your mind. Our beach community is made up of both luxury and small little beach communities so the prices are pretty varied depending on where you are. We live about 6 blocks up from the beach and have had several sales in our neighborhood over the past couple of months --- with selling prices of $150,000 - $225,000 for small homes within walking distance to the beach.

Palm Pointe Condos in Palm Coast/Bunnell as low as $65,000. Built in 2006 with granite countertops. Near Flagler Beach, hospital and Town Center. Home prices very low also in the area. Check realtor.com or gotoby.com for listings.

Thanks....that is the type of info I am seeking. I'm not familiar with that area, though I see it is near Daytona Beach. Is this a "spring breaker" area, or what is the basic "environment"?

$150-$225,000 isn't what I call a deal. That's pretty much like a lot of areas nationwide.

Most of those areas nationwide would not be 6 blocks from the beach.

The poster did also mention that "it all depends on what defines a "deal" in your mind".

Just so you know....the poster ALSO is a realtor who is using this forum improperly, including sending me private emails. I'm looking for information that isn't prejudiced by the desire to make a buck.

Do you mean the properties you mentioned are for 55 plus only? If so, I'm not eligible. Please elaborate.
