Others who don't fit this category you will be depressed eventually leading to sobbing or heavily medicated like me. My advice? Don't fight it... leave the college kids these towns and take your adult self to the real world -- South Florida, Tampa, LA, Rio, Madrid, Seattle, NYC, etc.

I'd agree...BUT...what if you are MARRIED...and still like cities like South Florida, Seattle, NYC, Rio, Madrid, etc.? Then what?

That's an interesting statement. I did have a flat tire in Mississippi once...and I did get MANY people pulling over to help me out.
I've also had flats in Michigan and eventually had someone stop, but took awhile.
Had one in Montana once, and NO ONE stopped. It was a time when I didn't have a jack either, and the flat was pretty obvious. Maybe 45 minutes later, someone did, but quickly told me they didn't trust strangers. Thought it was interesting, as seemed to be a prevalent theme in Montana.
Anyways, I don't think its a southern/northern thing at all however...it is just that people in Mississippi are VERY helpful. There have been other places in the South, I would NOT have wanted to have problems - thinking of around Memphis, and other places.

Let them be scared, let them not come.
If they come here with the kind of ridiculous preconceived notions that some in this thread seem to have, they are never going to experience this place the same way people like you and I did.
So let them have their prejudice. We know better and should maybe start keeping the place to ourselves.

Gimme the panhandle, gimme northern GA, gimme Greenville SC, but a place like Boca Raton or Palm Coast, why heck no!
