RUN FOREST RUN! Out of the locations you mentioned, Gainesville is the most tame because there are a lot of students from S. Florida who attend.

Unfortunately because it is a Bubba Institution, there is a significant Frat scene and the place shuts down for any football game. (RahRah!) And you will be FOREVER affilliated with Gator Nation and Contemporary Country Music.

But don't dispair, there are also Artists, Hari Krishnas, Mods, Rockers, Vegans, Jews, Gays, Wiccans, Pagans and Hippies too!

What about UM, FIU (Miami), FAU (Boca), FGCU (Ft Myers)? At least these are near beaches in better winter climates where people can read.

No really, how dare you. Northern Florida has collectively decided to reinforce every negative stereotype we have of this area to keep out the carpetbagging riffraff.

So instead of telling people I live in a nice, clean, relatively low crime, politically moderate to liberal, environmentally friendly well-run town, I'm going to start pretending to be a redneck, and that all of the Panhandle is a trailer park from Pensacola to Lake City.

Let them watch their Dukes of Hazzard reruns while they freeze their butts of in NJ, or dodge bullets in Hialeah.
when did you dodge bullets in hialeah? who do you know that has?

My thoughts exactly. Quite an oxymoron there~"I'm so holy and have such good manners so don't YOU come here and ruin this all for me."
