Default Seasonal Affective Disorder???

This has only happened to me in the last few years (since 2004) but every time the weather goes up to the 80's for more than 3 days I start to get depressed, and it's hard to get moving in the morning. This continues till the rainy season, when I regain my enthusiasm. The hot boring sunny days give way to dark clouds and rumbling thunder. Exciting lightning and hail on rare occasions too! Since everyone hates winter and snow, is it possible to be affected the same way by sunshine and heat? I used to go bowling to escape the sun and 90+ degree temps but with that gone there isn't much to do but stay inside with the air conditioner on.

Hi Rick,
On the flip side, when it gets really cold (like our ice storm 2 weeks ago), I get SUPER depressed. I hate the dreary grey sky and watching all the car accidents on tv. I long for the day to call FL my home. Although I am a yankee (Long Island), I promise to leave all the NY garbage behind LOL!!!

Hey Rick, You're in Key Largo, right? I'm not sure why you can't go bowling unless the lanes closed. Go snorkeling! I went snorkeling for my very first time at John Pennekamp. Maybe you just need a good old fashioned vacation...go to the mountains for a few days. Or perhaps Minneapolis where the highs are still in the 40's, cloudy and occasional rain? Maybe you could better tolerate the sunshine!

It's got to be it. I was a relatively happy guy here for 13 years! It was just as hot and dry back then. Of course I wasn't spending 1/4 of my income on property taxes then and my parent's were not the victims of harrassment either.

Well I am too broke, stressed out and frequently ill to take a trip. As for bowling I guess there is coral bowl (fish bowl) in islamorada but I preferred Don Carter's kendall lanes. The homestead bowling center has become too ghetto to bowl at night. Don't worry, if I move I won't be more than one minute from lanes 35 and 36!
