Moving to Winter haven-need a nice area
My family is moving to Winter Haven dur to my husband's job. We are a young family-early 30's with 2 middle school children. I would like to live in the school district of Denison and Lake Region. I am currently working with a realtor who would like us to purchase a house in the Reflection or Tarranove subdivision. We don't mind the house there but there are also quite a few nice looking houses in Crystal Landings but she said we don't want to move there. Somtimes I have a feeling she is biased due to commission of sale. Could anyone tell about Crystal Landings? Is it nice? How about Reflections or Tarranova? Are there any other nice subdivisions in the school district that we want to be in? Anything would help?

I know what you mean, from my experience My realtor wanted me to buy in a subdivision she liked and I was not doing it. because I thought she wanted a commission from it. I picked out my own home and put her down as my realtor. she still got money. ( Later I found out she didnt want me to buy in the other subdivision because she knew the builder has bad reputation and had complaints about his homes. and she could not say that professionally,
I ended up unhappy with my home and builder and sold.) SHe did save me money at closing however by spotting add on's that wre not right.
I think you will be happy with the prices of winter haven, Lakeland or Bartow area, Mulberry is good choice too, they have lots of new homes going in on hwy 60. Prices are so good compared to Tampa,Other areas.

I can tell You NOT to BUY in Terranova!!!!...lots of problems in there....Flooding is one, and the home sin the back of the neighborhood are not kept as nice as the ones in the front of the neighborhood...there are three Builder in there one is Cassidy ( which is more of a upper class home) then Adams which builds a ok house, and then Southern homes which build a ok house...however here is the key..the Adams homes are very Inexpensive there for they are more affordable to maybe a less Desirable person...
we have been looking for a YR in winter haven and know ALOT about the area now..so feel free to PM me i can tell you where what and when not to !

Winter Haven is a really nice place to live. My husband and I are from Rhode Island and moved here 3 years ago. We purchased our first home here and there are PLENTY of homes for sale that are not in subdivisions.. I would really reconsider buying in a subdivision they have alot of rules and regulations as to what you can do to your own house. I live in JanPhyl Village it's quiet, clean and We really like it. Good luck in your search. My kids attend lake region and it seems to be a really good school.. email me if you have any questions.

Winterhaven
IMHO was nice at one time but when I went there about a year ago I was truly disappointed in what I saw. I couldn't recommend it but then I don't live there.

We're looking to move into this area or Clermont. More thoughts on the neighborhoods would be appreciated! We have 2 kids, 7 & 10 yrs old. Definately need to have a pool, trying to avoid HOA fees (I am assuming they're monthly not yearly, is that right?). Thanks!
