Lightbulb Fastest growing cities 2006

CNN listed the top 10 growing cities in 2006, Florida has 3 cities. Florida had three cities on the list led by Port St. Lucie, with a population increase of 11 percent to 131,692.


City Percent gain
Elk Grove, CA 11.6%
North Las Vegas, NV 11.4%
Port St. Lucie, FL 11.0%
Gilbert, AZ 11.0%
Cape Coral, FL 9.2%
Moreno Valley, CA 7.3%
Rancho Cucamonga, CA 6.4%
Miramar, FL 5.2%
Chandler, AZ 4.9%
Irvine, CA

When I read this post earlier, I just knew that when Sunrico got home from work, he'd find the answer. I'm a bit surprised to see that some of the most expensive cities made the list.

Lightbulb Most golf played

For the golf player we got game in Florida....

None are on the 2006 Best Places to Retire list this year, but here are cities from the Best Places to Live database where residents play the most golf.

The only problem with the CNN info is that Port St. Lucie passed 155,000 in early 2006. My current working estimate is 160,000, but it may be more. Based on 10% growth, it could be closer to 170,000. The city keeps a pretty good handle on the numbers by using data from the utilities, license bureaus, post office, schools, etc.
