It is, it's neat to see all that kind of stuff. My dad has given me a few coins with the authenticity paper to go with it. It just means a lot to me since my dad found them on the Atocha.

White Springs in North Florida is home to the Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park in which has an old bath house (not sure what they call it really) that was built in the late 1800's or early 1900's. It looks like a gazebo on the water. It was once believed that by bathing in the white sulfur spring water or drinking it, it would heal ailments of all kinds. I have been there numberous times myself, but I refuse to walk around the bath house (for fear of water underneath me, I know-it's silly).
Here's the site on it-there's a pic of the bath house: White Springs, Florida - History of Our Beautiful Town

If I am not mistaken, Franklin D. Roosevelt swam there before since he had polio. It was all about those healing waters back then.

It is said that the beaches of Sanibel and Captiva are THE best shelling beaches in the world.
A tip for shelling there is to get a tide schedule and be out on the beach as the tide goes out, you find all kinds of wonderful things in the tidal pools.
For me it was like a beach strewn with gems.

Suwannee County, home of many springs-Peacock Springs is located there. The water is crystal clear (as in all springs) and GORGEOUS. There are many, many caves there and many divers have dived in those caves (including my dad-yeah, he was a master diver, so he dived anywhere where there was water). There have been divers who have gotten lost in those caves and ran out of oxygen. It's sad, but true, so whereas something might be interesting and intriguing, it's good to keep in mind there are limits.

Again I have not witnessed this but someone told me that used to live in Ocala that in Silver Springs when your out in the boat, you can see the monkeys in the trees. I read this monkeys are decidents from when they filmed a Tarzan movie there a long time ago.

It's been a long time since I have been to Silver Springs, but as far as I can remember, I believe I saw a monkey...I just remember I was more intrigued with the glass bottom boats.

Silver Springs

Here is a link.
It was in the 30 and 40s that the Tarzan movies were filmed at Silver Springs and some of the rhesus monkeys escaped. Kind of amazing to think they still have ancestors that live there now.

Trivia - Did Tarzan release his monkeys in Florida? - ArcaMax Publishing

This link seems to say they were released by someone else and had nothing to do with the Tarzan movies.

Down Silver River, canoeists run into monkeys, see gators, cormorants | ajc.com

This snip speaks of their numbers being reduced but not eliminated AND that you can canoe up the river if your not into the glass bottom boat experience. I'm not sure I would want to be in a canoe if one of those BASKING alligators got hungry.
