Cats are hard. Lots of anti-pet landlords here, and it made it more difficult when we were trying to find a place with out sweet blue beast of a kitty. And for all that there are a lot of people who do want to rent for a while, the rental market here seems difficult.
The Denton one probably would be tolerable for a couple of months. Like most of the area, there's not a lot of violent crime. You just have to be consistent with locking home and car doors and not leaving anything pretty visible in your car.
