What I have seen in the news is that Florida is having a severe drought. The pictures I see of brown grass, etc.... don't look anything like the pictures posted on this thread. On google maps street view, everything is also brown.

If you've had chance to google street map the entire state, you'd better find a new hobby. (Not to mention --- and I'm sure you know --- that google street maps was done almost two years ago in most areas of FL?) Nonetheless, here's "Street View" of the photos I posted:

and

And a drought? Droughts can and do end. Crappy weather in Minnuhsoda lasts millenia.

The google stuff you never know when it was done. In one view of my house there is a car in the yard I haven't owned in 2 years. Another shows a political sign in my yard from only last November.

They are predicting a very wet rainy season. I sure hope so.

The winters are usually dry here. The rain is starting this week so we should be plenty green by the summer. Not to mention most of the US has bare, dry trees in the Winter where I am looking out my office window at plenty of green trees that have stayed in that condition since I started my job 3 years ago.

The weather pattern is definately changing. I expect the rainy season to start next week. You will be amazed how quickly dead tirns into green once the thunder rumbles and rain falls in Florida.

Our weather forecast is 30-40% chance of rain for each of the next five days listed on Wunderground.

Some areas of Tampa got rain and even hail yesterday, here in Sarasota we didn't get a drop. I was hoping and so was my lawn.

Did not Google the entire state. Just areas I know about, visited, or know someone. I have to admit though, I was amazed at how brown I found everything. It reminded me of Texas.

Glad you will have rain soon. I hope no hurricanes or flooding tropical storms. I was in Fort Lauderdale in 2006 and all the Palm tree tops were sheared off. I saw plenty of blue tarps on roof tops also.
