Most of east Orlando and South Orlando has fewer trees. I thought of being more specific when I posted, and also noted that "without sacrificing climate" because I hate our winter so I would not want to move much further north. I was also comparing our area to South Florida, not NC or GA. I hope you took your family out of the Waterford area.

Actually we went to Oviedo and it is definitely different over there! I really like Winter Park and Park Ave. too. If we were to stay in ORL, that'd be my first choice, or perhaps Oviedo. But you're right, Orlando does have a lot more trees than other cities it's size.

Well I guess there is no place where you can have everything. Thank god we have the freedom to travel or even move to different places and experience everything mentioned.
As said before, Lake county has some pretty high hills for Florida. Our 2nd home is in Lake county, and just south of us are nice hills, around Clermont, etc, and just north of us a bit is Ocala National forest. You drive miles and miles through there without even seeing a house.....just a canopy of trees and pines and lots of wildlife.........All that and no snow!! And when you need something from a "big city", Orlando is only 35 minutes away.......
I'll be back down there tomorrow...can't wait!!

I know a lot of you love this weather but its way too hot now. Its 88 degrees and at 4pm its very bright outside almost as if it should be noon. Stepping outside is like walking into an oven!

What's wrong with you?? You've been unhappy for more than 2 decades and have done nothing about it (or so you say). It generally takes someone like yourself at least 40 years to find out that I-95 runs north and there's no one to stop you from leaving. When you find those hillsides and winding roads please write back with your complaints about the economy and country people.

never posted his life circumstances. Many times you make sacrifices for the people you love; be that a parent or a spouse.
Yes, it can take 20 years, as in the case of my husband's boss who stayed because of his widowed Dad since all his siblings have long since moved away.
Just one example. You cannot judge based on preconceived notions not knowing the circumstances of a particular indivudual's life.

You know...I really considered that. Having read the OP more than once before posting, I thought it's too heavy with sarcasm to be genuine. This seems like an instigation thread by someone who will never post again.
