Default condo conversions in south florida ?!!?

Hi,
What do you think of buying a condo conversion in south florida?
I'm a single gal living in Atlantic City area right now..

Some of these places like Bahia Delray in Delray Beach were built in 1978, but have "new kitchens and bathrooms".............2 bedrooms/2 baths go for around $200,000

How about Heron Ponds Condos in Pembroke Pines (condo conversion built in 1988) . The real estate agent said "it has survived all hurricanes".

Of course, BRAND NEW construction is ideal, but the prices seem crazy!
Except for new places in Riviera Beach, like "Marsh Harbour" townhomes...
I know parts of Riviera Beach are real seedy.

Would you recommend condo conversions now, or brand new in Riviera Beach.
Or should I wait a year or two to do anything...........(I really am not ready to move down there for good yet, cause my poker dealing job is still SO juicy up here)

I am looking for a place $200,000 or less, with nice pool, jacuzzi, and modern looking, .......

any ideas?!?!?

thanks so much from ellen

Why buy when you can rent them for less from the investors who buy them? Most of these "conversions" are painted over old rental apartments.

Exclamation Condo Conversion

Disagree, Rick. Bought a condo conversion in Boca. It was gutted, right down to the concrete block. New plumbing, wiring, floors, walls, AC and appliances. I call that "converted." It's a "quad" type townhouse, so it has a fenced yard. Cost me 205K, which is a Boca bargain.

Please don't generalize, when giving advice. Conversions are worth exploring in this day and age.
