22 yr old wanting to move to fl
Hi Everyone,
I'm graduating college soon and really interested in moving to Florida with my boyfriend. I went to school in Providence for Fashion/Marketing and am originally from the Boston Area. I want to live in a city, near the beach. I know nothing about Florida, and need help being pointed in the right direction. I'm not a partier but enjoy going out, I want to be around people my age, with great restaurants (my boyfriend is culinary.) What would be the best place for me?

I would say that Miami would be the best FL city for you since you are interested in fashion. They have a great fashion scene, and I lived there for four years even though I'm not a "partier." I did feel out of place because I don't speak Spanish, but Miami can be a fun place to live when you are young.
Check out Gen Art Miami - it is a really cool organization that puts on fashion shows and other events. I worked in entertainment publicity while living in Miami and got some really great experience.

For fashion and marketing I would probably say Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area. They are full of great restaurants and action when you want to get out.

Question, if you know nothing about Florida, what attracts you to it? I think only Miami/Fort Lauderdale would fit your criteria.

Yes Miami. My son's ex GF was a fashion major and they lived in FLL and she ended up working at the Marriott. She wasn't the biggest go getter either but Miami is fashion city. Remember Project Runway Uli Herzner? LOL

Thanks for all of your feedback! We have money saved up, and I'm attracted to FL because of the weather. Ive thought about LA but its too far away for me. I really appreciate all of your posts
