Living in Panama City working in Destin???
Might be moving to take a job in Destin. Does everyone that work in Destin really live there or do some people drive in?? I am use to driving an hour to work -- just seems that the housing possibilities are better the closer you get to Bay county. Would appreciate anyone's thoughts.

Lots of people make that commute. Just watch your speed on US-98 through Walton County since the speed limits change frequently. There's also an area after you cross SR-79 where a nice uniformed gentleman in an unmarked Charger lies in wait. He can't catch my 6.1 liter though...hehehe

Most of the people I know that have commuted in to jobs in Destin proper (ie. the Okaloosa County side of the line) do so from Ft. Walton Beach, Crestview, or Niceville. The traffic from the outlet mall to the Destin bridge gets pretty bad in the summer, and could end up taking a lot longer than an hour that time of year.

My brother does this opposite commute (Panama City Beach to Okaloosa Island) every day, but I wouldn't recommend it. It's a long way. If you must live in Bay County, I would definitely stay on the far west end of the beach. My doctor is in San Destin and I've made many trips from PCB to San Destin when I was pregnant... It was never a fun drive. Why? Because the speed limit changes so frequently... sometimes 65, but usually 55 or 45. And the traffic through Destin is awful. I think alot of people live in Niceville instead.
