Any of you ever been to the "New Town" section of Sarasota? I visited the area for the first time a couple of months ago and it seemed mostly nice, but New Town reminded me a little bit of Belle Glade...

The new town section? Not sure. We went down to the Square (I think it's called) and we became somewhat familiar with Sarasota from a few trips we have had. Also, my wife has family there, but I think he's trying to get out and move to NC last I heard.

Sarasota is all old people and has absolutely no soul. Look at your housing options there.....the architecture is HORRIBLE.....just like all over south FL. Stick with Athens, GA or Asheville, NC. Take it from someone who has lived in Sarasota.
