And Mike Peterson wants to know how he "glosses" over the weather description!

Is 28 degrees hot?

Because it does get that cold here.

Weeks in the 40's, not hot.

Yes, sometimes it is hot, sometimes it is cold.

Please show how I gloss over the weather. I have asked before and you posted a website of a private owner and another that said right in what you posted "While we may suffer some pretty hot and humid days in July, the winters are to die for! "

If I give an honest assessment of the weather that you do not like that is not glossing over.

You insinuating that it is always hot is just assinine.

It has snowed in Florida before, ergo, "It snows in Florida"....

See how that can sound a tad deceptive?

Default Yes

I do like FL's climate. I even prefer the summer weather over the winter weather.

I like to tell non-Floridians that it sometimes gets in the 30s here on winter mornings. Maybe some people think it is warm here year round. I cannot blame them, though, because I asked a dumb question to someone living in Alaska once ("Is it always cold there?").

I even joke that the winters in FL get too cold for me at times! Mostly January and February, though.

IMO, it gets quite hot during the summer, warm most of the rest of the time & alternates chilly/warm throughout the winter. But what do you *expect* from a sub-tropical climate? Temps in the 20's-30's non-stop for five months straight?????

Curious -- I don't know where you live, but if I was interested in buying a house where you lived (and you did not already know anything about my personal preferences), what would you tell me about your local climate, that it was terrible, that it was mostly nice, that it's hot, cold, or ???

When asked such a question, all ANYONE can answer is 1) quote straight numerical statistics and 2) give their own personal opinion, which is obviously subjective from one person to the next. What seems like "perfect weather" to you might be utter hell for me & vice-versa. So, if *I* think your climate is awful, that means you must be "glossing over" if you tell me it's pretty nice.

It's also helpful if when describing winter weather or temps and humidities if you folks mention whether if you're from North, South, or Central Florida. There are large differences. After hearing mention of 40 degree temps my (???) is going into overdrive. Has anyone ever suggested that there should be a North Florida and South Florida Forum?

Alot of people dont know that Florida has experienced temperatures as low as -15F before.

In hot climates you can only take off so much clothing to keep cool where as in cold climates you can just keep adding layers to stay warm.
