Best Place for Being Single and in Your 40's
If you were a 43 year old single man what part of Florida would you reccomend?
I have researched several areas but I am worried about not being in an area with enough people in my age group.
Thanks for your help.

I think it depends on what you like to do (bar scene? water sports? camping and fishing? etc) and what you are looking for (make friends? long term relationship? etc). You will probably get better advice if you could post a little more info.

I definitely want to be on the coast. Into health and fitness. Working out. Outdoor activities especially beach related. Swimming, snorkling, surfing, boating. Would be looking for liberal minded people to be friends with and dating. Here in South Carolina being a liberal is hard.

Well I am 30 going on 80 but am going to go back to live in Boca where it is older in general. I am like I stated though more of a homebody and very mellow though wish there were more young. My friend who is 40's male/single moved to West Palm Beach and that seems younger and more social young things to do. My major thing when I was there for the winter was safety and I have family in Boca so it worked out. I am not sure what you do but that is something to think about as you would want to be near work. Price range. This winter I came at the height of the season in Dec and wanted a 3 month lease I almost dropped when people were asking 3000 for a month. Also there were slimmer pickings.I would plan a trip down and check out the areas. I had looked and it was too busy for me but you mentioned the water and Palm Beach I looked at some rentals and when I was looking the guy said it was like the LA of FL. I don't know about that but it was pretty and had more of a busy feel. I just think yes those things you stated are important but also to think about expenses and jobs of course. Good luck

I would recommend leaving... try Atlanta if you must remain in the region.

I always thought it seemed easier to do the outdoorsy life when I lived on the east coast (grew up in Brevard County). The atmosphere seems more "beachy" over there - as opposed to where I live now (Tampa). I would suggest looking along the beachside Brevard county (or south from it). Of course a lot also depends on what type of work you are looking for, price range for a house, etc.

Not entirely...Tallahassee is more moderate (some would say liberal) and chock full of sexually frsutrated single thirty-something females...
When I lived here in my 30's, it was the Happy Hunting Ground.
