What I'm trying to say is blame the burglar or the aggressive driver, not their entire demographic. Then you might have a better chance day to day.

I understand that, and I wish it were that easy for me. But what am I supposed to think when the same people are doing the same crap over and over again?

Okay, but just to warn you, most of the burglars and bad drivers in Greenville are going to be from there and they are definitely going to be there...

I'm not sure what you mean. I have a family member that works for the sherriffs office. The crime is pretty much isolated to one or two areas (section 8 areas). And even so, they only have a few murders (maybe 5) per year. That's pretty low. I have friends that live there - they dont have the problems that we do. The police were in our subdivision this morning and last weekend.

I dont know of the bad drivers you speak of. I have NEVER had a problem there. The difference between drivers in Greenville compared to here is EXTREME; not worth comparing.

As many have suggested, when moving to Orlando, maybe you should have picked a better neighborhood than Waterford. Because a place like Greenville is smaller doesn't mean there aren't any massive quasi-ghetto new developments but rather there are small ones. Wherever you move, just pick your neighborhood wisely.

Default Naples - Turn-back

Place is not only full of domestic snobs and pushy foreigners- it is surreal and far too expensive. The town purposely keeps those common folks from moving in, unless they need to hire you for help. I lived in many places but this place is by far the most prejudice exclusive place - its beautiful landscape brought me hope that life in Naples could almost be bareable.

Naples lives and breathes for OLD PEOPLE. Actually, SNOWBIRD old people to be exact. Everything revolves around SEASON. Come November you can feel it in the air. Stores are gearing up. Activities are in the making. It's SNOWBIRD time. From about November through March, it is how Naples survives ALL YEAR.

Traffic becomes a NIGHTMARE. The beaches, restaurants, hotels, stores, are packed. March starts to slow down. By April it is gone. The businesses count their money to see how much was made for this "season". Then restaurants are empty. Many shut their doors or cut back their hours. Naples becomes a ghost town in summer.

Ok, you all know my feeling about Florida, but Naples is in a category all it's own. It personifies everything anyone can possibly think when they hear old people and Florida. WHY anyone who is a young person, or a young family would want to move to Naples, of all places, is beyond me. I am sure there are PLENTY of other places in the state of Florida that would more than meet their needs. Unless you are a rich, old, snowbird, or retiree, forget Naples.

Hell, I have in-laws who were originally from NJ who live in Ft. Myers and on Sanibel. Why? Because one brother- and sister-in-law went to Sanibel on vacation, fell in love with it, and relocated. My other brother-in-law relocated to a golf course community in Ft. Myers to be near them. And plenty of other people from NJ have relocated to SW Florida, and I have two girlfriends fron LI whose families relocated to Tampa.

It's not where you're originally from, but what you want out of life. We're from NJ and we're not going to either of the coasts -- we're going to Marion County because that's what suits us.
I wish I would have known them when I lived there.

I was on the constant lookout for New Englanders and New Yorkers. I met a few New Englanders and they were appalled at the rudeness of the people. Never met one New Yorker.

I left four years ago. It is entirely possible that I had very bad luck or there are more people from that area that are now moving in.

There ARE rude people everywhere. There's a gloomy guss or a "you're all extras in my movie" type of person that will always be around. But sorry, when constantly dealing with people that are pushy (sometimes physically), cursing, and all-around scoundrels on a constant basis it becomes a very real problem to the area.

I think anytime one demographic overpowers the rest this sort of thing can happen. And southwest Florida have an enormous demographic of retirees.

We've got retirees here, too. But they are just nice, older people. Who knows? Throw them down there and they might turn into animals, too.

Default Naples is a great place to live.

I have lived in Naples since 1993 and there is no other place I would rather live. I have no idea how all of you have found so many negative people that have upset you. Naples does have some drawbacks but for the most part there is a lot to love about the area. We are a growing town and with growing towns you have growing pains. This is normal and as for the story with the baseball bat odds are it was someone not from the area. Naples I find to be a nice area where people are friendly and willing to help out others. I am one of them.
