Pensacola, Pace or Milton. Which one would you choose?
Of the three towns mentioned, which would you say has the best quality of life for a mid thirties married couple with no children? Also, where would you estimate that you would get more house for the money?
Thanks

All depends on your needs... Advise on the following:
Schools?
Job?
Beach?
Type of house? (ranch or community)
Income?

Gulf Breeze
I actually have been checking out the area to move to. Santa Rosa County has good schools. Pretty beaches in Pensacola and Gulf Shores, Alabama and the area is booming. It is still affordable not like south Florida.

Pensacola - hurricane and tourist magnet. Been there a number of times. Always found it hot, and not particularly friendly. But it has the most activities.
Pace - zzzzzzzz Wazzat? Wake me up when we get somewhere.
Milton - not a bad little place. You could do worse, and not being right on the coast is a plus, but unless you are used to small town life, could be a shock.

Schools.-No kids, so schools are not an issue.
Job.-Law Enforcement
Beach.-God, I love the beach. Still though, would be looking to move well inland in a no flood zone.
Type of house.- Newer construction Brick 3/2/1-2
Income.-Major pay cut, I have allot of equity in my house so the mortgage would be small.

From what I have surmised, I think I would be leaning towards Pace or Milton.

Milton might be a better choice... Pace will be less expensive, but further out. Check Crestview or Navarre. Both towns are growing and might provide more bang for your money. Navarre is closer to the water and Crestview is about 40 plus mile from the sound. Fort Walton Beach is an older city well extablished town that can meet your needs, larger market, just like Pcola.

milton
I'm in my 30's and live in Crestview, which I don't like, and Think Milton is a nice town if you want to live off the coast a little. It is small, but has a cute downtown area, and a little bit of culture. It has some nice well established neighborhoods with cool old homes, and some areas with new homes as well. If you like the outdoors it is also close to Blackwater River State Forest. From what I understand, Pace is just and extension of Milton. Pensacola is a much bigger town and would have more shopping, more culture and diversity, more places to eat, etc.

I definitely would prefer to be well inland as this area seems to catch allot of hurricane activity.
