Default Dunnellon information please.

Any information on Dunnellon would be greatly appreciated. Shopping, schools, jobs, crime, how far to coast/beach etc. Thanks in advance, I've done all I can for research on net but would like personal views and thoughts from Dunnellon residents.

Dunnellon is a cute area! I love it there, Feels like a tiny city or village with some lovely rural settings around town. It is also only 20 or 30 minutes to the Gulf Coast (Crystal River area is OK too).

My older kids go to Dunnellon High, but I personally do not feel that the high schools in Marion County are as good as the one that my oldest came from in Ohio. Just my personal feeling there.

I have to go over to the Butcher shop in Dunnellon sometime here in the next week, I will try to get a few snap shots of town and Rainbow River.

I live 4 miles from Dunnellon and It is real nice and quaint. If you make your money in the building trades, be prepared to accept $8 to $12 per hour, and be grateful you have a job.

Dunnellon is awesome! It is family orientated and Romeo is a wonderful school that is consistantly graded A, my daughter loves it there. We are only 20 minutes from Ocala (from Lake Tropicana out 40), I used to work just beyond Airport Rd off 40 and it never took more that 20 minutes sometimes less. The community college is beautiful. We have a very nice mall in Ocala. Restaurant Alley (SR 200) offers almost anything you could ask for food wise. Yes there are old folks but that doesn't hinder Dunnellon's wonderful spirit. The civic association in Lake Tropicana is wonderful and we are currently trying to make it more family related. We have our First Saturday Festivles once a month. Christmas parade. We have Jazz Up Dunnellon. And of coarse Super Walmart! I work in Gainesville and it takes 50 minutes and is 48 miles each way. And I have had a variety of jobs ranging from $8 to now almost $16 an hour. Well anyway that is my opinion of Dunnellon, I love it here!
