First off, we are moving to Naples, Florida in August. It doesn't give me much time to look into the schools.
My daughter's were home schooled their entire lives. They want to try going to school. I hear all the time about the terrible schools in Florida. My question is... the public high school for the golden gate estates area, Palmetto Ridge, is it safe? Are there drug issues? Gangs? Violence?

If it is not safe, is there a reasonable private school? Catholic? I am on a tight budget, so nothing hugely expensive. The most important thing is my children's safety.

Palmetto Ridge is safe. Drugs-they are in every school. Haven't heard of gangs or violence in that school.

Private schools are very expensive. My kid went to Catholic School all 12 years. There are drugs there, too.

Thank you. I didn't think there would be gangs. Well, I was hoping there wasn't.

I read the handbook online for the school, and the school seem pretty strict. 33 pages of what to do and not to do. I am hoping to be there at the start of school, I would really like to check it out first. If not, I will be checking out the Catholic schools. I looked into the other private schools in the area, and they are very expensive.

I understand that drugs are in every school. Some here in Pa are really, and I mean really bad. We actually have police departments inside the schools. 24hr a day police...it is scary.

I was just wondering where this high school fit in.
