Default Jobs in Cocoa Beach or Cocoa is there any besides Hospitality?

Hi

I am thinking about moving back to Florida, i lived in Ft. Lauderdale for a while, to go to school to get yet another degree. Hopefully one I can actually be employed in.

I am worried though ,because I will have to work while going to school, that I will not be able to find a job that I can afford to live and save a little money other than bartending, waitressing, or something else in the hospitality industry which at least in Ft. Lauderdale didnt pay enough to get a place and save a little money.

I have a couple of BS degrees from University of Wisconsin and had a background in information systems which seems to be worthless these days with all the offshoring.

I guess I am wondering if there are jobs that pay more than $7-$8 an hour in case I cant find a job like Bartending and Waitressing because I know those jobs are usually at a premium in Florida because of all the students the come there etc.

I have to be in Cocoa or Cocoa Beach because that is where I have to take my preliminary classes to do nursing at BCC.

Also is there a younger population also there? I know that all of Florida skews towards the 50's but would like to find some younger people to make friends with. It was a hard thing to do down in Ft. Lauderdale because everyone only stayed a short time and no one really wanted to put the effort in to getting to know people.

Thanks for your help and if it looks like things will be just too hard to make rent and get by I guess I have to look somewhere else,

Ashley
