I don't see it as a matter of population but a matter of interest/number of posts that an area generates, and there seems to be even less Daytona chatter here than even Ocala chatter.

I think you are right, its based on interest in this area not population per se. If there is enough traffic/interest about this area on CD it will get a sub forum.

Exclamation Duh?

It's weird that most of the "no" votes are coming out of spite/jealousy of other Florida areas not obtaining their own forum sections they had requested. (i.e WHY should you have one if we can't?)

How is that fair?

Do you really think you're gaining future support for your cause by blackballing our request?

Maybe some are like me and don't post about local issues/questions because we don't have our own board. For example, I can't see posting on this board about the Flagler Beach fireworks, but on a more local board, I would.

I think Sarasota and Fort Myers forums could be merged into one forum, and also I don't know why the city of Ft. Lauderdale has an entire forum to itself. Then create a Panhandle forum, and a Daytona/Flagler forum.

To OP, you might try taking this request to the About the Forum forum under Administration. That way you'll be sure the higher-ups see your request and consider it.

It's unfair to presume who the "no" votes came from...
Moderator cut: discussing moderation on public forum

BTW, I think there should be a Daytona forum as well as a Panhandle forum, so I declined to vote at all.

Ft Lauderdale does not have its own forum, it's in with all of Broward county. I think Gainesville should be combined with Ocala (a Marion and Alachua counties forum). Also, a Volusia/Flagler forum would be cool. There definitely should be a Panhandle forum, covering everything from Jefferson county westward.
