Like two different world going back to PSL right?
We were supposed to be able to work from home when we moved here. Instead we only were offered a 6 month contract. NC is not for everyone. We are mainly leaving here to go back to our jobs we never should have left in FL, insurance and benefits are calling our names.

Moved to Chapel Hill from Gainesville for my wife to attend graduate school five years ago. We just moved back to Gainesville after finding jobs. Liked NC a lot but it's very far from family.

You can get to the mountains in 3.5 and the beach in two hours which is nice but if you don't end up going often it's not that great. We'd go to the mountains once a year so it being close wasn't a huge advantage.

Overall I'd say Raleigh/Chapel Hill/Durham offer a lot more than any other FL town though.

What's there to love? Lots of traffic, high crime, high illegal immigrants and ZERO jobs. Sounds like paradise to me.

Sounds like any metro area up north to me.

Since the thread is about those who moved away and MOVED BACK let me tell you about crime, traffic and jobs.

Use Detroit for instance, you cannot find a job, if you leave your car in town for one minute it will be stolen, you cannot breathe because of the smog, the traffic is horrible ( probably every one trying to get the heck out of town!!).

How about Memphis, more crime then any city in Florida and no jobs to boot.
How about Atlanta, crime out to wazoo and traffic far worse then any Florida town. Been there many times!
How about Baltimore, talk about a crime ridden city. Lucky to get out of there alive.

Now lets talk illegals, if you voted a certain way this election then you ok'd the illegals to be here, just ask Pelosi as she believe they have more rights to get a job then you do. Do you watch the news? HINT HINT!!

Now lets talk illegals, NC has illegals crawling out of the woodwork. They are everywhere. If you think illegals are only in Florida then I have a boat to sell you.

Come to Columbus Ohio, yes Columbus Ohio. Go out to eat and you are out numbered 10 to 1 to foreigners who do not speak a lick of English.

We heard this song before, crime, illegals, traffic and jobs. But you know what?

There are far worse places then any city in Florida, FAR WORSE.

The song has been song to pieces and some of us know better.

If it was all that bad in Florida then why in the heck are SO MANY MOVING BACK !!!!

That's not true, Memphis has a decent amount of jobs availible. They just don't pay too well. Also, Most crime in Memphis is condensed into small areas of the city, The rest of the city is just as safe as say... Orlando.

It is a totally diffrent ballgame. If a good job was offered in ALASKA, that is where we would be. FLORIDA had absolutely nothing to do with it.

Isn't that the reason that other poster moved back because of a job? That in no way, shape, or means that you actually WANTED to come back here.

I know I shouldn't "bait" you, but when my husband was out of work (an IT degree and 35 years experience), he applied to a company in Ohio. Unfortunately, the Florida company was the first to offer him a job. You know what? I would rather be in OHIO than Florida. I spent my summers as a kid at my uncle's house in Hammond, Indiana. I didn't like it, but in hindsight, right now I would rather be in Indiana, or Ohio, than FLORIDA.
