I started that thread on the General Forum

TONS OF PEOPLE WOULD NEVER WANT TO LIVE IN FLORIDA AND WOULDN'T EVEN CONSIDER MOVING HERE.
What is so hard to grasp about the concept that some people LIKE COLD STATES? OR SEASONS, OR OTHER REGIONS, OR MOUNTAINS, OR CORNFIELDS, OR WINTER SPORTS, OR NATIVE AMERICAN areas, OR BROADWAY SHOWS, OR NAPA VALLEY WINERIES.....OR CHICAGO DIVERSE NEIGHBORHOODS OR ....just about anything else that isn't here.....
My son stayed here after college 10 years and couldn't wait to move back home to Phila.
Accusing people who don't think like you of having mental problems is ridiculous and stating whatever dopey stuff you said about "living in cold and darkness"?????
Are you asserting that everyone all over the USA wants to live in Florida and just is unable to for some reason? Or that they must be mental for not wanting to? Gee I guess people in WA, OR, MT, ID, MI, WI ND, SD AND ALL OF CANADA are just a bunch of aholes.
Are you under the impression that Florida has extensively long days? Sorry, the number of daylight hours is roughly the same in Florida as the rest of the lower 48.

to see what people across the country would say about "everyone would kill to be able to live in Florida". Of course, I knew the answer just in living among people myself up north for over half a century. I just wanted to be able to throw it back to the people on this Florida forum.
The people on this Florida forum really should search out that thread. It might take the blinders off.

No, I never gave those impressions. Are you one of the ones who constantly bash Florida even in the positive threads? Wanting to rain constantly on people's parades who love Florida and her beauty? I was simply following people's patterns on here who seem negative all the time, only because it isn't considered too healthy, that's all. I have no beef with Tanaples. In honesty I'm concerned for her. And a few others on here.

Then you should read this thread by people all over the country outside of Florida (on the General US forum). I've been reading the thread from the start. I'd say about 95% of people say they would never want to live in Florida:

Not everyone likes what you like. It's naive to think that.

Gawd do you people not read people's posts? I never once said that. I said people are entitled to what they like in life! And no, I'm not jealous of where anyone lives really. This is the United States, we can all up and move anywhere we want to.

Hey TAN, please don't go into a nursing home...you're not ready to go that way. There's a whole lot of living to be done for you and fun times to be had...in New York!
And if you still insisted on a nursing home, we'll just have to make sure it's not in Florida, that you have enough Golden Girls reruns to watch....and that they don't allow residents access to City Data!! LOL.
Just kidding.

but there are a few posters on here, who seem to think that the entire country would give their right eye to be able to live here in Florida. Obviously, that is not even close since that thread generated 22 pages.
It is, though, a common attitude here in Florida. I have heard it many times by people who have moved here. Their friends and relatives are "jealous" of them. I think they are just making excuses. I am sure deep down they know the truth of that statement.

Well I don't think "everyone" in the U.S. want's to live down in Florida. What I think is if people did, they would! That's all. The way I see it is you have to live, work, and pay bills anywhere, so do it in the place you most like.

And not many like what you like either!
Wow, quoting a thread started by someone ( happens to be your mom who was banned once for posting negatives under Hockeymom72 and that name still shows BANNED ) who hates Florida with a passion.
Sorry to tell you Rachael but that thread is useless because it only is based on a select few people who even took the time to read it.
Then the wording jealous is also a strong word that can be misunderstood.
I am not jealous of anyone, in fact I feel great for those people who have been able to enjoy life in paradise. I feel sorry for those who either failed, struggled, did not make it, do not like it, should not have moved to Florida in the first place, or any other thought you want.
I would venture to say that if you asked the entire state of Florida and did not leave anyone out that they would say they are not jealous of anyone who is stupid enough to live in the cold and that they enjoy living in Florida.
See most people who have their act together enjoy living in Florida or they would not be there.
Now the topic was anyone move out and move back, it is easy to see that many, many posters on this board who moved out have repeated it over and over they either should not have left or cannot wait to get back.
But since your mom is miserable in Florida and you want to defend her every post those of us who believe Florida is the place to live will just kinda ignore those who have some problems.
This is a positive thread and whether you like it or not, I would bet you could ask people off the street would you rather live in cold New York or beautiful warm Florida and the answer would be by far of course FLORIDA.
Gosh, be a good daughter and talk to your Dad and get your mom out of there. I know if my mom was having problems and my dad could not see it I would be all over it myself.
No one should be forced to live in a place where they hate it so much that they are blind.
For someone who loves the cold like she does why on earth would anyone take any job in a state they hated before they even got there is beyond me.
She has posted that he had offers in many others states and took the one in Florida.
Yet another one of those people who MADE A HUGE MISTAKE by moving to Florida in the first place and now want to bash it when it was entirely there own fault for making a poor decision.
Its not Florida's fault your mom hates it, its your mom and dads fault for making a poor decision in the first place.
If Florida was that bad you would not see ALL of these people moving back now would you?

LOL OK so if you want to know my opinions click on profile click on statistics click on see all posts and you can READ them instead of making accusations to someone you never even heard of.
My comments were made regarding your rudeness here. You have no right to make mental health comments and ESPECIALLY make ridiculous assertions that 99% of humans don't find joy in cold and darkness.
It is no darker anywhere else in the lower 48 and PLENTY OF PEOPLE LOVE COLD. NEWSFLASH.
So now you snark "not too healthy". "Makes one wonder" what it is about YOU that you have to analyze strangers and can't stop even when people challenge you for doing it.
So "Florida and her beauty" are supposed to hypnotize the rest of the country? Anyone who you perceive as negative about Florida is depressed were your words.
Guess what I can name you 25 people who feel Florida is butt ugly. You're only thinking about the water and "palm trees' oh yeah....the palm trees yes we hear that all the time.
Be sure to stop back when you ACTUALLY LIVE IN FLORIDA. And if you EVER drive THROUGH the REAL Florida.
I love these people who never even lived here finger wagging at residents. There's quite a few of you.
The converse of your theory....anyone with an escapist dreamer mentality thinks "her beauty" cures all life's challenges.
