I can't stand it anymore.
Ms. HockeyMom,
You're ALL over this forum, spreading your misery.
Have you ever heard the saying: "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" ?

I just had a flashback...my father used to tell us that every day when we were kids!

Perhaps, but they still make me very happy every time I see one. After being stuck in PA for 3 years, every palm tree I see motivates me to make sure I never, ever have to leave Florida again. Of course every wave, sea shell, and bikini I see does that too!

I remember going years an not seeing hardly a palm tree. They were all wiped out. I used to have 24 palm trees at my house in SW Fort lauderdale and 10 at the beach house. I don't have any anymore. Most of the trees you see now in South Florida were planted in an attempt to replenish them. I am pretty happy when I see a palm tree and wish I had some on the property again.

I moved her in the 80s, left in Jan 1990 and returned Jan 1991. I left to work on a project in Northern Virginia, I could not wait to get back to Florida. I missed the wonderful winter weather, the beaches, the relaxed atmosphere, and the beauty of Florida.

Florida is home to me and I realize it now more than ever. In TN the gas bill was over $400. Our electric bill down there was never over $200 during the summer. Cable here is 3 x the price down there. They hit you hard on over 9% taxes, even groceries. We are just not happy here at all. Unless you were born here and have family, it is horrible.

Hi SunShell..What part of TN are you leaving?

All of my mother's 5 siblings except one have at some point called Florida home after leaving NE New Jersey.
My mother came to Florida and hasn't left yet.
One of her brothers left Florida permanently for Texas, never to come back.
Another brother left Florida, moved to Georgia and Virginia, came back to Florida, and is now in Kansas.
Her elder sister left Florida, moved to Kansas, and is now back.
Her youngest sister left Florida, moved to Arizona, and is now back.

She isn't saying anything mean about anyone personally. What's so wrong with venting?
