We left FL in Dec to be closer to family back up north and we are planning to move back so we were gone less than a year. FL makes us happy. We hate the cold, lack of taxes is a big plus and there are things to do with the kids there free or that cost money, they never had to sit around and twiddle their thumbs. I regret ever leaving!

I get your point but if you've ever lived in Orlando you would understand OP's statements. It sucks when you go to McD's and there is an Ordering barrier.. BUT I lived in NC too and it was actually about as bad as there as far as the diverse culture. FL Mall in Orlando is one very very very busy loud place as is most resturaunts off 192, what do you expect its tourist central of the world! I met so many people from so many places there! And I'll deal with loud to be close to Disny anyday!

Moved out of Florida to Knoxville, TN. in 2005. Moved back to Melbourne, FL. in Feb. of this year. I will take the heat and humidity anytime of the day!!!!!!!! Instead of the winters in TN. Nice place to visit but you would not want to live there!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FL native to MI for 7-8 years. Back to FL. Not like I remembered it. Off to MO. 11-12 years and back to FL. Here 25 years and headed back to MO for retirement. I like the mountains, the lakes, and the gardeners paradise. Yes I'll be back for visits but not to live. No bashing just like MO too. I believe from my research that the crime rate is considerably lower in MO than the general area of FL where I currently live. Trading my palms for hickory trees. I like to cook with those hickory trees. Some kind of good BBQ.

Lived in Florida close to 20 years and really loved it. Then two years ago I needed to move to central Illinois to help out a family situation. The only good thing about Illinois was I met and married my dh! He, too, had lived previously in Florida. Neither of us appreciate the cold winters here and we just don't seem to have the right mindset to be midwesterners. Now we're in the process of packing up to move to Melbourne. We don't plan to leave Florida ever again.

I know many kids who play the game, go to church, and are total fakes, doing drugs and all kinds of garbage. By the way, what is "a good church"??

Drugs are a serious issue that can't be solved by church. A parent must be all over the issue from the time a child is 5 years old. It has NOTHING to do with a kid going to church or not, absolutely nothing.

Coach Andy Reid of the Eagles and his wife are huge church goers, took their kids to church every single week. 2 of his sons were sentenced Monday to jail time...for drugs.
I don't think that was the way the message was to come across, simply, if you can give your children the great opportunity of getting to know christ and establish a good foundation on which to build that you have a better change of a great life if you include christ. Now if you don't follow him and become one with your own vision that's another outcome.

i am stuck right now in new jersey but cannot wait to come back to sebastian. i miss so much about florida that it surprised me. i had thought that the traffic was getting worse and construction also, but it is nothing compared to south jersey. i guess i miss the slower pace of florida, no car registration, clean air, beach proximity, little things like all the stars visible at night, and the friendly people.

I wish I could be stuck in New Jersey
