I love shopping at this store, and feel it is the best grocery around, for everything. They have also traditionally paid higher than any other grocery chain that I know of.
i think the state gives public a bonus or pay when they hired somebody disabled, or unemployed.

Yeah, right.

I wouldn't be surprised. My sister in law does some kind of thing with her company where she hires interns and students. She pays them like nothing, I guess they are getting paid in experience and a future recommendation. She collects some kind of money from the government for doing this. My guess from what I know of her, she probably gets free labor and comes out ahead financially. The company she owns has to do with nonprofit organizations and getting people government grants and she is an expert at getting something for nothing.

Want to hear how easy money is to make in this country. She recently wrote a grant for three million that went through. She makes 3%. It took her a week end to prepare it. That's $90,000 for like 20 hours work. Is this a great country or what. Back to Publix, believe me, someone is getting screwed and they are making something off it or they would not be doing it.

Lol HockeyMom, I think you're going to have to start trying to think of some of the positives of Florida... or else when you DO move you are guaranteed to be miserable because of "self-fulfilling prophecy" syndrome!

have you heard of this:
(please do not forward this to your Boss)

New Office Policy

Dress Code:
1. You are advised to come to work dressed according to your salary.
2. If we see you wearing Prada shoes and carrying a Gucci bag, we will assume you are doing well financially and therefore do not need a raise.
3. If you dress poorly, you need to learn to manage your money better, so that you may buy nicer clothes, and therefore you do not need a raise.
4. If you dress just right, you are right where you need to be and therefore you do not need a raise.

Sick Days:
We will no longer accept a doctor's statement as proof of sickness. If you are able to go to the doctor, you are able to come to work.

Personal Days:
Each employee will receive 104 personal days a year. They are called Saturdays & Sundays.

Bereavement Leave:
1. This is no excuse for missing work. There is nothing you can do for dead friends, relatives or co-workers.
2. Every effort should be made to have non-employees attend the funeral arrangements.
3. In rare cases where employee involvement is necessary, the funeral should be scheduled in the late afternoon.

Bathroom Breaks:
1. Entirely too much time is being spent in the toilet. There is now a strict three-minute time limit in the stalls.
2. At the end of three minutes, an alarm will sound, the toilet paper roll will retract, the stall door will open, and a picture will be taken.
3. After your second offense, your picture will be posted on the company bulletin board under the "Chronic Offenders" category.
4. Anyone caught smiling in the picture will be sectioned under the company's mental health policy.

Lunch Break:1. Skinny people get 30 minutes for lunch, as they need to eat more, so that they can look healthy.
2. Normal size people get 15 minutes for lunch to get a balanced meal to maintain their average figure.
3. Chubby people get 5 minutes for lunch, because that's all the time needed to drink a Slim-Fast.

Thank you for your loyalty to our company. We are here to provide a positive employment experience. Therefore, all questions, comments, concerns, complaints, frustrations, irritations, aggravations, insinuations, allegations, accusations, contemplations, consternation and input should be directed elsewhere.

====================I hope this made you laugh.

I worked at the Corporate office in Lakeland. George Jenkins (founder) treated and respected all his employees but unfortunately its not Publix treating people bad it is who they hire that does the deed. Also publix is the largest employee owned supermarket in the world. Stock is aloted to an employee every so many hours worked, starting the day they are hired. They wont lower a current employees pay they will just raise the hours to earn your stock.
