Great opportunity if you don't have life jackets..
in an effort to improve safety on Florida's waters, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary has launched a new campaign aimed at preventing drowning.
"Fit to Float" focuses on an important, but often overlooked, safety feature on any boat. Namely, the life jacket. The campaign not only emphasizes the importance of wearing a life jacket, it also stresses proper fit and having a physically fit life jacket. The program points out that old, faded life jackets are general ineffective and should be discarded.
To kick off the program and help South Floridians become 'fit to float,' Bass Pro Shops on Dania Beach will be offering a used life jacket exchange program on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
