Default Where is the best place to live in Florida?

My wife, my young son, and I are moving to Florida soon and don't know where lol. Some friends from high school moved there several years ago - Destin and St. Pete. I really don't like Destin at all, I really like St. Pete but I have a feeling there are some better places. I'm looking for the ultimate beach spot. I was looking into Key West but the pics of the beaches weren't very impressive. What do you guys think? Thx

Key West is like miles from the civilized world!
What the heck are you going to do there? There's nothing there!

What kind of beach are you looking for? One where houses have their little boatdocks in the backyard ending on the ocean, or one where across the street you'll have the beach?
Beach (sand) as far as you can see along the coast line, or a very deep beach (long distance from houses to the sea)?

If all you like to do is fish all day and drink all night and you don't mind being 3-4 hours away from civilization and can afford to live there then I would suggest Key West.As far as beaches,Key West doesn't really have beaches, maybe some sand thrown in a spot and called a beach but not a real one.

I don't fish or drink, but do enjoy the keys except for all those fishermen and drunks. . .
