our house has been on the market 4 months now..No one has come to see it . which i cna understand with the market being slow...But In begining to think we have a crappy realtor.. My husband insisted on using her and i think now he is a little Miffed with her.....The house if its to sell will sell its self ( basically) . but I sit here and think she has'nt done a dang thing except list it here and there..and she is looking at getting about 15k out of the deal..I have two months to go on the contract, and if it sells in those two months good but if it does'nt its not bothering me to much .. I have a nice pool , yard and a beautiful home i can hang out here another yr or two...but the Next time it goes on the market IM SELLING BY OWNER!

I do not understand why people do not look to buy fsbo, some say they think something is wrong with the house, but if you are getting an engineer anyway who needs the real estate, I have dealt with 3 and I really think they are all full of s**t!

I sold my place this week too.

It was on the market for 3 weeks before I got a contract. Everything went well, I sold it for a little more than I hoped to when I bought it, and it closed on schedule.

That's not to say that it wasn't an ordeal; I'm so relieved to be finished.

Anyone else in the same boat with some positive thoughts? I am trying to make the best of it here, but I am getting very discouraged since nobody really knows when the market will change (though I know there are plenty of people making claims of fact of how long it will take, unless they can show me their crystal ball, I ain't buyin')

Anywho...just looking for anyone else in the same situation...misery loves company you know
Well, girl (guy?).....
There is a light, at the end of the tunnel.
I just went trough this, lived in PSL, and was waiting for my house to sell, to finally get the heck out of there (before our house would go into forclosure!!).
We had our house listed for at least 6 months first, with a little, private owned realtor company in Port Saint Lucie. Nothing happened, a bunch of things went wrong, open house our realtor fell asleep on our couch!!! So, we "fired" her, and took the house off the market, to re-evaluate all of our options. Several months later (last November) we tried our luck again, went to a bigger realtor chain, got realistic numbers on prices, listed it, and in this market SOLD IT 5 MONTHS LATER !!!!
We have excellent credit now, paid off the mortgage, walking away from a $200,000.00 plus loan, and broke even just to get out. (Beats paying $3000+ in taxes, and $3600 HOI!!!)
If you want to PM me, I can maybe give you some pointers and details on how we went about it, since I just went trough that whole rollercoaster.....
Don't want to be grim here, but the market is shot right now, and I feel bad for you guys.
I'm so glad and so happy to have gotten out, and should have done it earlier.....if it wasn't for sleepyhead napping on our couch...lol

Wait a while.(if you can) Looks like you have no choice right now anyway. Hopefully the market will turn around for sellers in a couple of years. People that want to buy in Florida should do it now before prices go up again.
We may be stuck here a while longer than we wanted to be. LOL.
