Everglades City?
What can you tell me about Everglades City? the type of people that live their, what money can buy, how long does it take to drive to Naples, schools, crime, housing. Hoe much to rent their and typical housing cost and any other helpful info.

I am certainly not an expert but from what I've seen - Everglades City is in the swamps and a small outpost for visitors who are going into the Everglades to canoe or fish. It's a very small place not a lot of people live there.

You may have a hard time finding out much information. It is not a hugely popular destination but I love it there. I have been about 4 times.
It is probably about a 45 minute drive to Naples.
The people there are a large part fishermen and those related to tourism such as fishing charters and airboat rides.
I don't know much about crime, schools or housing there. I would think that crime would not be too bad since it is so far off the beaten path but you would want to check into it further.
Once a year they have the Everglades City Seafood Festival which is how I found out about the area the first time.

Even though it is part of Collier County and their school district. There are a couple of Seminole stores in the area too. I don't remember seeing any condos there, except quite a distance away in South Naples where there is golf development.
Yes, not many people live there.

There are not many people living there but all those I met there were extremely friendly.
There are condos there and I just checked on one. A 2 bedroom 2 bath was around $300K
A nice house will run $350-$550K
Edit: Just found some other 2/2 condos around $150K

Obviously someone looking to relocate their isn't going b/c their is a lot of people. I figured if I ever came into a lot of money and needed a place to get away from it all, EV City looks like the ticket or if I'm running from the mob.

If you are looking for a job, you are probably going to have to drive into Naples.

or even a house, in Naples, let alone Everglades City in the middle of nowhere. Prices in SOUTH Naples are much lower than the rest of Naples for this precise reason.
As they say location, location, location is everything. North Naples, and/or near the beach, is everything
