Okay, you've mentioned 7 players for a team that's been in existence since when ? 1973 ?

My point is, Dallas/Fort Worth doesn't support the Rangers and they barely support the Stars. The Cowboys are a given because afterall, It's Texas we're talking about.

In order to be considered a great sports town, I'd like to think that there has to be atleast two good teams in the city or atleast two teams that get great fan support...

For example, Boston has many championship teams in the Patriots, Red Sox, Bruins, and Celtics. They also have about a ton of sellouts.

Chicago has great fan support and many championships for the Cubs, Bears, and Bulls.. maybe not so much for the Sox or Blackhawks but still...

St. Louis has the greatest team in National League history and boasts " The Best fans in Baseball " However, St. Louis is a baseball city. The Blues get moderate support but the Rams have no support and only had sellout crowds when the team was known as " The greatest show on Turf "

Don't know neighbors....been here 13 years
Flat land
No seasons
Pine pollen
Roaches (live in pine trees)
High utilities
No organic foods
No Messianic congregations
Love bugs, biting flies, mosquitos
Cats have long hair/too hot for them
Sand, even in the country
Grass won't grow
Rude teenagers
No southern hospitality
Crime
Concrete
Condos
Hate the beach
School system stinks
The humidity
No place to hike
State parks are too regulated
House is too small
Shark attacks at beach
Too many seafood restaurants (Keep Kosher)
Strangers don't speak or even smile
Have to run air 360 days of the year
No good bagel shops
No cultural events
Don't want to work just to pay utilities and taxes

When both husband and wife work and all you can afford is a 1100 square foot house.....something is wrong with this picture. Add in all the rest and it is time to move on.
I'm a native Florida man, born and reared in Gainesville.... Here we have few tourists, mostly natives, or was... the last 10 years, a hodgpodge of folks; southerners, So Floridians, Cubans, Colombians, etc.

I'm an affable guy, I speak to everyone and have a similar problem. My neighborhood is a mix of white trash, blacks, upper class, deadbeats, etc.

The problem with Florida is we get so many types here: deadbeats from midwest/south, hasty New Yorkers, loud Cubans, etc. and this creates problems.

However the most rude experience I ever has was in Los Angeles driving.

That's cool, I'm no big Dallas fan myself however the Stars do have one of the premier goalie's (Marty Turco) and won the Stanley Cup only 8 years ago. The Cowboys, Rangers, Mavericks, and Stars all have Elite players on their squad. So I have to disagree with you that Dallas is a really big sports city, you just don't know it.

I lived in Houston for a few years and have been to Dallas many times. I'll say that outside of football, Texas isn't that big on sports although I'll say they support the NBA.

I would say you'd be more likley to see people go to a Longhorns or Aggies game than a World Series game if the Astros or Rangers make one ( Houston made one a few years ago )

Championships and good players doesn't make a great sports town. I'd say it has to be a combo of great teams and great fans, Like the Green Bay Packers having a season ticket waiting list since the 60's... they had some **** poor teams in the 70's and 80's... The fans still came though.

We too are sick of the cost of living down here in florida. Been here 11 years was wonderful when we first moved here from connecticut, but now there r no jobs for me and the cost of living is sky rocketing. just can not make ends meet. looking to either move to out skirts of colorado or near grand canyon or eastern tn, I miss the winters (I know sounds crazy) decorating palm trees is not the same. if anyone can help with any ideas. looking for a few things
1. A rental in the pirce range of 500 to 800 on a dirt road with some acreage I want isolation lol oh and except 2 small dogs
2. job market, for my self can do almost anything from waitress, bartending to clerk to customer service. Hubby is a over the road truck driver so we can relocate anywhere
3. Schooling, we have a 13 old girl who is involved in band, basket ball, soccer, and softball, and a jr ladies aux for the vfw, I keep her busy
4. hubby wants to be close to sking areas and water sports we love to fish camp and do things out doors as a family when he is home
so if anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it, i have been looking all over this city it has helped me to norrow my searches down to those areas. we r looking to get out of her by febuary the latest

Everything you listed you can find fairly cheap in East Tennessee around Knoxville. Well.. with the exception of skiing.

Great quality of life up there, esp. around Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg..

We moved out of Miami to Concord, NC-right outside of Charlotte. The bf is Cuban and couldn't take it anymore. I couldn't find a job because I wasn't bilingual. Mind you we were both born in Miami and obviously saw the drastic change from the Latin influx over the years. We could afford to buy a house but what we wanted was $600K in a decent area and that's not even a fantastic house. My car insurance on a Murano was over $2000 a year alone and my renters insurance was $1300 a year.

We moved to Concord and purchased a brand new fully loaded 3300 sq ft house for $282K. Our house insurance is $300 a year and car insurance for two cars is $600 a year. People speak English and its pretty nice up here with the change of seasons but pretty cold!! My family still lives in Miami and would love to have them come up here but the brother is a firefighter and my parents are elderly. I would only go back to visit them and that's a big IF.

^^^ I agree "Floridian." Although I am not sure FL attracts too many people from "the South." I dont know about you, but I dont know too many folks that have moved to FL from places like NC or TN.
