Default Need advice, moving to NE Florida

Hello all, my first post on here....looks like a great source of information from people who know what they're talking about. my fiance' and I are planning on relocating to northeast florida within the next year or two (we are actually from the jersey shore, gulp...the SOUTH jersey shore, please dont hate!). we both love florida, have been there many times, and miss it every time we leave. we are summertime people. we just need some advice on where to look for a laid back, low stress, beach community. we love st. augustine and that is really our first choice, you can just feel the history there and we love it. we know palm coast is not for us, even though realtor.com makes it look so nice! we also need to find work....i am a financial advisor so i would hope i'd be able to find something. we are young, 24 years old so we dont have the highest budget (around $225-$250), but are looking to settle down in florida. any help would be appreciated....keep in mind that i have never lived more than 15 minutes from the beach so we are definitely looking into a beach community. Thanks in advance!
-Bob

i recommend you to move to any city but miami. miami to me it's the city where employment is hard to find. i had a friend that finished college he majored in computer repair, he applied in every company, but in all those companies they offered him a minimum of 9-10 dollars an hour, he had to move to west palm beach in order to find that dream job, he gets 14$ an hour working with computers in an american company in WPB. im speaking from experience .

Hi TOC,

Since you're looking to relocate to NE FL and possibly St. Augustine, you might want to post your Q on the Jax forum for specfics about the area.

Since you are in finance, Jax is right up your alley - finance is one of our big industries here (along with insurance & legal).

If you want to be 15 minutes or less from the beach, you could try Ponte Vedra in St. Augustine, Jax Beach and surrounding beaches in Jax and Intracoastal West in Jax for starters.

Plenty of Nyers and NJers in Jax !

St. Augustine and Ormond Beach are both good options. They are nice and you'd have great beach access.

Thanks a lot everyone...i will also post under the jax page as well, we need pretty much as much advice as possible. The beaches around St. Augustine do sound great so far. Thanks again!
