Antiqueing in Florida.
Hi all, my wife and I are moving to Fl some time later this year from Ohio.
My question is where are the best antiqueing places in central Fl as we will be in the Lakeland area? My wife is big on antiqueing (got to keep her happy)
Thanks.

Mt. Dora has a lot of antique shops and it's a beautiful little town in Lake County. Also in the Mt. Dora area on US 441 is Renninger's - one part is Flea Market, the other part is Antiques. They also have big events throughout the year with literally acres of items, old, new, used, junk, and quality antiques. See their special events at rennigers.com.

Just about anywhere in Florida!
I've found great antiques in:
St. Augustine (TONS of antique shops!)
Mt. Dora
Cocoa beach
Micanopy
Anywhere in NE and Central FL (Jacksonville, Fernandina, etc.)
Where I was disappointed:
Waldo

Hahaha - WALDO - you got that right! What a complete loser town! We were sent there by somone for the so-called "antiques" and found garbage like I would throw away - not even donate, it's so bad!
I agree with the other places listed above - good places, all.

Yeah, luckily we were just passing through on a day trip to Gainesville and stopped in. If I had made a special trip just for Waldo, I would have been really annoyed.

Glad someone asks about antiqueing in places nearby. There doesn't seem to be any around the areas where we "hang out".

If you'll be over the East Coast of Central Florida at anytime, there are a few antique shops in Cocoa Village (downtown Cocoa). They offer an eclectic variety; some weekends I saw some pretty good stuff, other weekends not so. Anyhow, just passing it along - I'd only make the trip out there if you wanted to visit the beaches or Space Center.

Lakeland, your in the center of a ton of antiques.
We love Webster, every Monday morning at dawn. Used to be so huge you couldnt do it all in a day, since your from Ohio, the closest thing to Webster would be the Springfield extravaganza and it would not have compared to Webster.
Many large Flea Markets in Tampa and St Pete area and along Rt 19.
Smileys Antique Mall is nice near Ocala, Micanopy has some nice shops.
Mt Dora has allot of little malls, Eustis had a nice Flea Market at one time as well.
There is a nice Flea Market every day of the week in Florida to go to.
We used to go to Webster on Monday, Eustis on Tuesday, Sanford on Wed etc etc.
There are many small shops in and around Lakeland. Flea Markets are huge in Fla and you have to sort out the new stuff but we always find a great buy at Big Top.
Google antiques in Florida, there is a magazine out that has a Florida Antique Trail to follow.
Rennigers is allot of fun too.
We are looking at Lakeland ourselves to move to to be central to the "antiques" and close to the beach, WDW, Busch etc.
You will find more antiques then you will ever have time to search.
Goodluck, we are looking forward to antiquing in Florida when we move.
Also, allot of good auction houses in Central Florida.
