Property taxes are going lowered, according to Christ, by rolling back the levels to the 2003 level, which would help save Floridans $1200 the first year, and the savings are going to be larger each year until the levels reach the 2003 levels. Other residents are going to save $750, and buisnesses are going to save $3300, this is all in the first year. Christ also wants to increase homestead extemptions to $50,000 and homowners can take the extemptions with them when they move and gives first homeowners a 25% break. Remember, the saving are going to become more each year. This should help increase school enrollment more and make living in Florida more affordable. The plan would save Floridans $27.2 billion dollars over 5 years.

That's Gov. Crist's plan....the House has another one and the Senate has yet another. At the rate they're going in Tallahassee, nothing will get done on this issue by May 4. Crist's plan is kind of in the middle of the other two and could be a good compromise.

And I believe in that as much as the Easter bunny. Re Crists' Ins reform and how the rates are going to be reduced, well I just recieved my renewal and the policy ONLY went up 32% Maybe I should write to Santa Claus for tax relief.

Default Property Tax

Taratomsgirl, and where do we all go? I've been looking into nearly every NE state I can get to easily or get information on. I don't think Crist plan will pass, there are plenty of retiree's on fixed incomes that there pensions/SS
don't go up that much, so where are we suppose to move to?

County government has gotten out of hand, I hope they put in that increase in state tax, this way everyone will pay, just not us Floridians but everyone else that visits, if you can afford to go to Disney, you can pay the state tax.
