Here's what we pay in Orlando for a 3200 square foot house. Don't know if this applies to PSL, but it will give you an idea.

Monthly Costs

Electric (with pool, 4 adults, 5 computers on 24/7)
$250 (Winter) $400 (Summer)

Water (varies depending on how much we have to use the sprinkler system and add water to the pool)
$55.00- 90.00

Garbage Pickup $17.00

Bell South (basic phone service and .05 per min. long distance)
$42.00

Cable and Internet through Bright House
$120.00

Hope this helps....

2,400 sq ft 4/2 w/pool. ac in winter about $150 - 180, in summer about 250 - 280. 2 adults and 3 kids.
On well no water.
My house is insulated well but ac is 13 years old. I am sure when I get a new one it should go down some. Live in SW FL.

Just a comment cause my monthly bills don't apply since I don't live in Fla.

Your water bills seem very high compared to up North. Anyone know the reason for that? Also, your cable bills seem high, too. Do you have the super deluxe packages or the basic 75 channel package? Here it's about 52 a month.

We have cable tv - of which we don't watch 75% of the channels but because of what we do watch makes it at $125. Our water is approx $25 per month.

Jammie, I don't know whose post you were referring to, but I'll respond per mine.

Water has always been high where I've lived in Florida. My cable bill includes
1 HD cable boxes, HD channels, Discovery HD channels and about 175 other channels - although no extra movie packages...i.e. HBO/SHOWTIME/CINEMAX.
BUT it also include high speed internet. I think the internet portion is about $50. The remainder is cable and TAXES.

A huge portion of your bills are taxes and access fees of various kinds. My phone bill would be about $25, but by the time all the taxes and fees are added it's $42. There's about $60.00 of taxes and fees added to my electric bill each MONTH! It's outrageous.

OK I understand now. Your cable packages are about the same as ours. We have DSL through the phone company and I wasn't even thinking about the possibility of people who have internet on their cable bill. We've actually thought about switching since they have all the new fiber-optic lines, but we're pretty happy with DSL so we may just stick with that.

Pianogal, I know what you mean about the taxes on utility bills. Must be the same all over cause we have the same thing here.

Our Brighthouse digital cable(basic is covered by HOA, which we don't pay) and high speed internet w/router is $64 a month-in Pa. that is what I paid for cable internet alone.
Our water and sewage is about $100 every 2 mos.
Our first electric bill was $118, second was $90 and this one was $66.

I am also looking into relocating there. I am single with two dogs. What is a typical a/c bill without a pool?
