here is the data, scroll down to M and it will have the tri county grouped and separated.

here are the rates per 100k

Miami dade beat all the counties in homicide (9.6) , violent crime ( 927.0)
, robbery ( 339.0 ) aggravated assault (549.6 ), property crime (5,521.2)
, burglary (1,096.6), larceny theft (3,746.4) , and motor vehicle theft (678.3)

the only one that is the lowest is rape at 28.9 the lowest out of all three counties, with palm beach at the highest at 31.1

I dont think that's a big suprise though. Miami is one of the most dangerous metros in the US. Miami, Memphis, St Louis, Camden, N.O., Detroit, Baltimore/D.C., etc.

i cant get actual crime figures brah, im only 17 what am i gona do walk in the police station and ask? still waiting for miami dade to give out the mid year report. all i know is homicides, which last ive known is on 9/1/09 Miami dade had 170 homicides. and ended 2008 with 228. you can ask the miami dade M.E send them an email or call for the numbers.

well 170 homicides up to Sept. 1st averages to about 18 a month so Miami Dade should end with about the same number as last year which isn't really high for a county with a population of 2.5 million.
The Miami Herald did a breakdown of homicides and found that nearly 60% were drug related and that more than half of those were young black men under the age of 35.
There remaining homicides were mostly domestic violence incidents with a very small portion being random murders due to robberies.

PS: I can remember back in the early 80s during the Cocaine cowboy wars & the Mariel boatlift when Miami Dade used to have more than 500 + murders a year and the county had 1 million less people in it!

yep, it was 5 times worse in the early 80's...usually a murder everyday...often 2 a day and less than half the population
