It's a Florida thing. I lived all over, have been in many 'hoods, and have never seen it anywhere else. I see this a lot in south Florida in particular. I've seen a ton of thugs w/ 305 tattoos on their bodies.

I've seen 404 (Atlanta) and 212 (New York) hats, I asked a local tattoo guy here in Nashville if he's ever done a 615 tattoo and he said no, and that he didn't think he'd ever heard of it.
I hear another popular tattoo in Florida is getting the state outline but done up like a pistol..
God I'm glad I left and never looked back.

If you move frequently (like for corporate relocation), it's probably best to keep the old ones instead of having them removed each time. That's expensive, and probably painful.
