Escambia County Property Taxes
We are currently renting in Atmore, AL, but will be hopefully looking to buy in the next year or two. Does anyone have any insight on how the property taxes compare between Escambia county, FL and Escambia county, AL??

I live in Pensacola Florida (Warrington Area Zip 32507) and my taxes are around $600 a year on a 0.12 acre lot.

Come to Okaloosa County, Fl. $99 per year property taxes on an acre of wooded land with mobile home on it. Not a run down area either.

Thanks everyone for the replies, and for the helpful link. Okaloosa sounds like a good deal, but I work in Atmore, so the commute would be too much.

It's generally about double in FL versus AL (this is comparing my parent's property to mine). If you work in FL it is offset by the fact that there is no state income tax, but if you're working in Atmore you'll still have to pay AL taxes. The schools on the FL side of the line are better (Bratt, Ernest Ward, Northview) compared to Atmore schools, so that makes it worth it for some people.
