Let's hope the trend continues.

Compared to the first half of 2008, crime during the first half of 2009 is down significantly across the board, including:

Murder - down 18.8%
Rape - down 6.1%
Robbery - down 13%
Burglary - down 3.9%
Larceny - down 7.0%
Motor vehicle theft - down 23.1%

"Domestic" related crime, however, appears to have gone up.
