I'm in the Daytona area... there has been a really big fire just north of here burning for a week now. It's awful, the smoke is so bad.

Just saw the news & the meterologist said that the conditions were very smoky in the Sarasota area due to the conditions in northern FL & GA. Crazy! Here in Punta Gorda (south of Sarasota) it is quite, quite smoky!

Smokey over here on the west coast near clearwater too. It's getting better than this morning. I was having a hard time breathing while in my florida room. The sun this morning when I took my daughter to the bus at 9 am was beautiful.

The wind has blown some of the smoke away here however with my allergies and asthma I am still struggling, with inhalers, eye drops, sinus sprays etc...
I am just dreaming of the rainy season at this point.

Lakewood Ranch has been Fire Threat...
...yes, it's true!
They've closed I-75 at Fruitville Rd....the people who went out to "put out the fire" had to be rescued by helicopters when the flame/fire surrounded them...and they were not by any water at that time.....

Oh man, I still smell like a campfire (usually welcomed)!
Pinellas County was crazy today. My eyes are still burning and I'm coughing like a smoker!
Ack!
