My wife and I are retired and we retired well before the age of 55. We love Florida and we have the best of both worlds. We have a very good retirement and and we consider Florida our dream. We live in a fantastic state.

I never have had an overwhelming desire to move to Florida, but I knew my husband did. My parents have lived here for over 20 years and we finally moved here last year. I LOVE it! More than I ever expected. I sometimes wonder if those who hate it live in Southern Florida, because up here in Flagler Country, the weather is quite tolerable, the people unbelievably friendly, the parks, reserves and national parks just amazing, diversity, good schools, a ton of activities if you seek them out, reasonably-priced housing. Just yesterday we went with the cub scouts to Fort Matanzas. So full of history. The little boat ride to the fort, the nature walk there and at a neighboring park were wonderful and it was all free. We don't have all the amenities of a big city, but it's a great mix of people, lots to do in a beautiful, peaceful setting. I love it!

I voted "yes". Florida is not perfect, and I sometimes wonder what it would be like elsewhere, like NYC, Chicago, or Portland. However, I would have to have a good reason to leave.

I have my good points and bad points. I do like many things about FL. I can't blame Florida for the economy. My biggest dislike is the heat, I am just tired of it. It gets old by October and it is still 90... Too many things were overbuilt here, now we are stuck with empty, half built, or abandoned homes and lots, buildings, etc. Snowbirds although they help Florida with $$$, are a royal pain, not all of them, but a lot of them. I think some of us on here know why.
