I think that once south Florida's bad reputation becomes widespread there will be no more mass migration here. A hurricane would seal the deal.

Hey, is everyong doom and gloom! Does anyone remember the last time prices dropped in real estate, I lived in NJ when people we losing their shirts on condos and homes. Those who hung in, cashed in later an much higher $ for their initial invest. Look over years, my father said that during the Depression, much of the same talk was said about rising prices of houses. About then you could get a nice home for $20,000. and people were wait for the prices to drop. Sure you can get 8.5 acres in TN for $45,000, but it was not so long ago you could by land in FL for that price. Watch the real estate market as we get closer to the presidential election! If you think you want a buy a home, and you are a first time buyer, now is the time. If you don't have to sell, take your house off the market, you will do better to wait out the panic of the other sellers who will drive the prices down. Eventually, bottom will be reached. Look at the national avg. FL is still cheap!

Tallrick - you are starting to sound like a psycho!
Has anyone else noticed this? I mean, it's becoming downright scary how you're wishing a cat 5 on us!
Pretty freakin sick! If you hate it here (& apparently your own life!) that much, do us all a favor & MOVE!!!
How DARE you keep saying something that sick!
That's almost like terrorism! You aren't part of al quida are you? I mean, that's EXTREMELY offensive & sick to keep saying that. How bout we all wish that you & your family are completely obliterated?! I think the mods would do something about that! Well it's about time they did something about your posts! MANY people have suffered - it's not a joke! Don't wish destruction on my city just because you don't like it! Gee, the terrorists don't like US - so they blew up our buildings...Same mentality.
Enough of it!!! Wish it upon yourself if you like, not on anyone else!!!

Tallrick in this instance, was talking about a hurricane further disrupting any south Florida migration, NOT that a hurricane is a tool for cleansing a city. IMHO

Completely agree with you on that. I didn't see anything wrong with his statement. Some people really need to chill out already on this site.

It isn't down in the sense that there were no new students. The number was down compared to the enrollment in the last 15 years. We averaged around 50,000 new students each year in the state since 1989. Last year we had about 30,000 new students only. Down 20,000 new students than average.

So does this mean that because there are only 30,000 new students arriving instead of 50,000 there is a decline in new student registration?????
Must be the "New Math"

I would think if things will be that good you would be buying up all the home here yourself. But it sound to me your selling. If people pull homes off the market you can get rid of yours. Am I wrong ? FL is still cheap if the pay was on the national avg.
