In Florida if this happens, do they just give you a ticket but still allow you to drive the car away and require you get an updated plate sticker ? Or, do you have to leave your car where they pull you over at ? Thanks.

I believe if your license is valid and you have insurance they will probably just issue you a ticket. Then again I'm talking about it being expired for a short amount of time. Cops get suspicious if you are driving around with a tag that's been expired for 6 months!

You'll get a ticket. Go get your tags and they will usually drop it after a small fine.

Hubby just went through this a few months ago, so I can tell you what happens. They give you a ticket and you drive away with your car. You have to pay the ticket and renew your registration.

And the renewal costs just doubled, so I'd advise not letting the ticket happen!!

My cousin had his car impounded for this type of violation. He also had to spend the night in jail.

I think it may depend on the county and also like giving tickets, there is a fair amount of discretion on the behalf of the officer.

Sounds like no insurance or improperly assigned tag
