My gf went from getting 600 to 450, and it is freaking her out!
Is that permanent or just a one check two week total? Because when you go onto an extension there would have been a tag end amount involved.

For example MI unemployment is $732 bi weekly, then like a tag-end amount of $208 at end of 13 weeks, so the last week of an extension it goes like this: $732/ 2 is $366 + $208= $574. Then when you are approved for an additional 13 weeks it's reverts back to $732 bi-weekly.

How long is unemployment lasting now (in total)? Is it 59 weeks (26wks+20wk extention+additional 13wk extention)? A year and a half?

You really do make me laugh - I can totally see your point! If I can't survive on 405 then I must get back to work, but then they should give you emergency funding for housing and things of that nature. Don't make someone lose their home and then go into a shelter uprooting children, having to get rid of animals and such. It's pretty bad!

On the topic of Florida and Unemployment Comp:

--Someone I knew went down to S.Florida, thought he could look for work and apply for unemployment if he didn't find anything...boy, did he learn otherwise.

--Gal I knew from NY thought she could hang out on South Beach and call in her unemployment claim to NY from her cell. When the unemployment office inquired whether she was actively seeking employment, she said, "Yeah, I'm just taking a vacation down here for a few months till I return to restart the job hunting." I think that was the last she ever heard from the unemployment folks.

Just that reason alone shows why she was not working in the first place - anyone not smart enough to say that they are actively looking for work deserves to not get anything! I mean if you are going to cheat the system then do it right LOL.

That's ridiculous. Unemployment wasn't meant as a 100% income replacement--if it was then duh, it would replace 100% of your income.
