Is anyone familiar with the area around Fountain Lake Park in Leesburg? I am going to be in that area in a few weeks and was looking for a nice place that I could take my daughters for a walk/picnic. The few photos I've seen of this park online looked pretty nice but sometimes pictures can be deceiving so I thought I'd check with some Leesburg locals about this area.

Also, any recomendations for outdoor cafes in the area?

We were in Leesburg in February. We went to Venetian Park - they might be connected some how, there was a lot of park when we went to Venetian Park. BEAUTIFUL, and the birds ate right out of our hands. Downtown is very quaint too, but a younger aged child may not appreciate it.

Fountain Lake Park is by the Leesburg Armory. There is public parking across Measdows road. I used to live in Leesburg and this little park used to be nothing much but has really been improved. It is down the road from the Leesburg library (the old library since a new one is being built). There are a lot of small restaurants in Leesburg, but I don't know about any outdoor cafes. Rogers Park on 9th avenue by the Leesburg Women's Club is also a nice park for kids. It is near Venetian Gardens.
