Spring - I agree - I once spoke to an attorney in ft lauderdale and he told me the problem he finds with people there no matter native or transplant is they don't have the right work ethic. I do not expect to not work as hard as I do here - actually quite the opposite - I imagine I will work a little harder initially to prove myself - but this is my attitude - I'm paid more than the average assistant here and expect that the same will probably happen in Florida - the only issue I have is looking for a job in this climate - it is a bit hostile - but I have no doubt that I will stand out - I'm very serious about getting something by august!

No, its not always greener somewhere else. It depends on the lifestyle you want. The things you will tolerate and the things you wont.
You have to find a place that fits the bill for you and your family.

I guess grass is always greener somewhere else?

Yes, southern work ethic is like that of the NYC Highway Department.

If you have the drive you can.

If you are a decent legal assistant/paralegal you shouldnt have too much trouble finding work here in FL. Brush up on the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure.

I'd like to think I'm a little better than decent, but the truth is I'm looking more toward the secretarial side - i know it sounds like a step down, but I feel that I will have more control over my hours that way - you know what I mean - good thing is - you get 2 for 1 I know both side of things so, I'll do more than the average sec'y, but you won't have the hassel of paying me the overtime - everyone wins - YEA! LOL - just wish me luck! That was great advice though - thank you - that will be my homework this evening.
